Journaling Prompt — Come Back to Wonder
Wake.
The sun is shining.
Come back to who you are.
Before the lists, before the obligations, before the small and constant demands of the world began to tell you who you should be, there was you—curious and unhurried, looking out at the day as though it had been placed here especially for you.
Do you remember?
There was a time when the world felt enormous. When a summer afternoon could stretch endlessly before you, when bare feet on warm pavement were enough to make you happy, when a field, a garden, a winding road could become an adventure simply because you had time to wander through it.
The sky was full of stars then.
Not because there were more of them, but because you looked up.
You noticed.
You lingered.
You allowed yourself to be astonished.
Perhaps that person is still here. Perhaps she has only been waiting quietly beneath the layers of everything you have had to become.
So wake gently.
Open the curtains. Let the morning spill across the floor. Feel the warmth of the sunlight against your skin. Stand for a moment in the quiet and listen to the house breathing around you.
There is no need to rush toward the day.
Let the day come to you.
Let the light find you.
Let the morning remind you that your life is not only what must be accomplished. It is also what can be felt—the coolness of water against your hands, the fragrance of coffee rising from a cup, the softness of a breeze moving through an open window, the sudden sweetness of remembering something you thought you had forgotten.
Come back to wonder.
Come back to desire—not the desire for more, but the desire to be fully here.
To taste the morning, notice the light, laugh without needing a reason, walk somewhere simply because you want to see what is there, look up again, because the stars have not disappeared, you have simply been looking elsewhere.
And perhaps this morning is an invitation to begin again—not by becoming someone new, but by returning to the woman you were before the world became so loud.
The one who believed there was magic in ordinary things.
The one who knew that an open road could lead anywhere.
The one who looked at the night sky and felt, somewhere deep inside herself, that life was vast and beautiful and waiting.
Wake.
The sun is shining.
There is still so much life left to live.
And the world, if you are willing to look closely, is still an endless adventure.
Journaling Prompt — Come Back to Wonder
Think back to the woman you were before life became so busy with expectations, responsibilities, and routines.
What did she find beautiful? What made her curious? What did she dream about when the world still felt enormous and full of possibility?
Write about a time when an ordinary day felt like an adventure—when you wandered without a destination, lingered somewhere simply because it was beautiful, looked up at the stars, followed a scent, a feeling, or a road just to see where it might lead.
Then ask yourself:
What part of that woman is still waiting inside me to be remembered? And what small, beautiful thing could I do today to invite her back?
Let your answer begin with:
“I remember when I used to…”
And let the memory lead you wherever it wants to go.
